In other words, it is not just about calories in. It is about calories out and when, which is what we are all interested in doing.

But let’s get back to our question about the food. Yes, if it is low in fat, calories in are likely to be consumed even if it means a higher calorie deficit than we are accustomed to in our normal metabolism. But if it contains more carbs (both monosaccharides and disaccharides) than we are used to, then eating the higher carbohydrate foods, which are higher in fiber, will give us a bit of an energy boost. When our carbohydrate intake drops and our fiber intake increases, we experience a “calorie deficit”. In other words, this method is good for weight loss if you go for long time without a calorie deficit. If you are not used to a specific plan for managing your weight, this may be less efficient. You can try it however you like.
