There is no scientific evidence that horses improve with age.
A recent study by the University of Southern California found that racing horses have an average age of about five years old when they leave the race. The average age is only three years old after they return from the races. They also have a shorter lifespan on the track than it takes a child to reach adulthood.
In the U.S., it costs a trainer to keep a horse in the sport. The average horse costs $11,500 to $14,000 while a trainer works for no more than $300 a week.
An 18-year-old German man who went missing in a remote Canadian island last summer is presumed dead by police. He may not even have seen any of his family.
Michele Kübler-Ross, the German-born wife of the missing German tourist, called police to find out in May when she found out that her husband’s cellphone had been deleted. Police say that they are not even sure if the phone is still functional, though they believe that it will be when they have the phone’s old SIM removed. The police also say that Kübler-Ross has not even been able to contact her husband.
“I just have to sit here as if nothing happened,” Kübler-Ross told the Daily Mail. “It was the worst moment of my life.” The couple have not seen their daughter since last summer and have tried to visit her when they have been able to. Kübler-Ross is convinced that her husband’s disappearance was a murder and that someone is responsible for his death. “I believe it was a professional hit, and this was not a random incident but rather one where I just believe it,” she said.
After finding out about her husband’s disappearance, police are not making any arrests. After Kübler-Ross lost her phone last fall, authorities tracked down the phone’s location on the map and found him in an abandoned island.
Last September, Kübler-Ross lost her son, who had been out with a friend, but when they came back to the island they discovered that only his body was left. Kübler-Ross believes that she does not have to look very far to know her son was murdered and that someone took his life so that he could be murdered again. She also believes that whoever took her son’s life was out to use him to commit an act of revenge against her.
