What is nap of the day? – Horse Racing Results Daily Racing Form

The term nap of the day refers to a group of tasks that typically last only a couple of hours. Many times this is the only task that you will complete during that time, and you may not even notice the rest of the day is going by.

Your nap may be a one-off task or it may be part of a much larger workflow. At my work, we often have one or two short blocks of time where all of our day’s work can be done in one or two hours.

So the key thing to notice is when you are not being pushed to finish and finish quickly but are instead busy thinking about the next step of the project.

How we define a nap

Turffontein Race Course

My preferred nap timing is 1 to 1.5 hours, sometimes as long as 6.5 hours, depending on what is going on. I am a firm believer that an hour is a good nap and that any longer than 6.5 hours is a wasted hour.

My nap times are generally 1:30-2:15. In the morning, I like to sit in front of the computer for 1 or 2 hours and then go to bed. Depending on what project I am working on, I can start my nap and work from then or at the same time.

Here is my schedule in typical morning hours:

8:30 – 1:30

12:15 – 1:15

3:15 – 2:30
