What’s MC short for? – Rock N Learn Multiplication Rap

Well this answer has been left to the imagination, because nothing has been officially declared!

The U.S. soccer federation has hired Tom Sermanni as a consultant to improve its performance, sources told ESPNFC.com, and Sermanni will report directly to the U.S. Soccer president, Sunil Gulati, who will serve as U.S. Soccer’s head of world soccer and is an executive committee member.

Sermanni, 46, has been head coach of the U.S. national team for the past four years. He is a former U.S. international, with five World Cup tournaments for the 2006, 2007 and 2008 U.S. teams. The only player to reach the semifinals of the 2006 or 2007 World Cup, Sermanni led the team to four straight CONCACAF Gold Cups before dropping the U.S. to a 4-1 loss to Germany in the 2008 finals in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

His resume includes playing in three FIFA world cup tournaments, three Olympic soccer tournaments and five CONCACAF Gold Cups. He coached three MLS teams, including San Jose and LA Galaxy. He is also an assistant coach in the U.S. at his alma mater, Stanford.

Sermanni and Gulati, 42, spoke briefly before the World Cup qualifier against Honduras last Saturday. Sermanni and Gulati talked about growing the talent pool in U.S. soccer.

“We’ve been focused in building up the talent pool in soccer in the U.S.,” Sermanni told ESPNFC.com. “Obviously we know that the world is not a place which supports your club. It just didn’t work the way U.S. Soccer wanted to do things in the past, and that’s why it took a couple of years to figure out what we had to do.

“I think now we’ll be a stronger team — because we have the ability to bring in some quality talent from other places. The idea that we are doing that now, if that’s the way it goes, I’m very pleased with how it’s going to play out.”

Sources said they have also decided that John Hackworth, one of Sermanni’s players in his U.S. years, will make the move to director of player operations. Hackworth spent 12 years in MLS as a player with nine different teams, including five with the Seattle Sounders and Galaxy.
