In our practice, we see ventriloquists performing more activities that are beyond what they would like to do. In this way, they are able to get a little bit of satisfaction from doing something they are not quite ready to do. The more we can help them to express their interests and fantasies, and to feel a little better about themselves, the better they will be at ventriloquising. In that way, they will become more comfortable with the things they have been doing. Let’s discuss a little about the activities they are not going to do.
If you read this book, you know that ventriloquists tend always to say: “I have never done it before, I would probably not be able to do it.” That is because ventriloquists are not used to saying such things. They know that the ventriloquist world is not their world. They are not used to the idea that they may be having some kind of “wiggle room” in the activity they want to perform. In particular, they are not used to the idea that they may not have the time, or the money, or the resources for some activities they do not want to do. Ventriloquists have a lot of “wiggle room” in their life, because the goal is very clear: They want to get better at ventriloquising. They are not used to saying things like this. They have a lot of “wiggle room” in their life, because the goal is very clear: They want to get better at ventriloquising. They are not used to saying things like this. They have a lot of training to keep them in the mood to do their activity – and they have to learn it over and over. In doing so, sometimes they learn to say the words in a much more natural way. They become more confident in doing their activities. They become more at ease with ventriloquising. They become so well at ventriloquising that they are able to do so much more than they were able to do before. We’ll talk about the other activities that they may do, and about ways you can help a ventriloquist get more “wiggle room”.
When ventriloquists have learned to say things like this, and when they have learned what it means to get better at doing something, many times they get their wish. They no longer worry about ventriloquising. Their lives
