“If I lose weight, no problem.
‘If I’ve ever heard of someone like that, I’d like to see them.”
Do you have any bad habits?
(Laughs) Maybe not? But I’ve got many habits, and if they are the things a pole dancer should avoid, then I’d like to be able to say, “It doesn’t come out at the end of the day. That’s why I’m on welfare.”
What do you miss the most?
I miss dancing. If I hadn’t danced, I would have been dead.
You are known as a dancer who loves his sport.
I love dance. I like dancing. I’ve been in the industry a long time. People who know me, they don’t think there’s so much weight on my hips, but I think I am!
What makes you a dancer?
If you watch a lot of dancing, you’ll notice that the way I dance is quite spontaneous. At the moment I am in a stage show I do. My partner is standing next to me, so whenever my partner moves he will be seen, but I don’t see him often, and that is why he’s a role model for me. He is also the only person in Australia who does pole dancing well, so he inspires me. My partner’s movements are pretty impressive.
A pole dancer will do your dance once you know what it feels like to be on the edge of that edge; your choreographer will teach you how to perform it in front of a crowd, and there is no one you want to win you over more than that.
That is something I value a lot – winning me over.
You have some pretty impressive moves, do you find it difficult to pick your style?
Absolutely. I would like to look at the pole show I do now and see if I can look at this whole piece of fabric and move like people like, but that is not going to happen. I am not really an easy person to teach my way around. One, because of the fact that I am not able to move as fast on my feet. I cannot get down and I will not go fast off my feet at all. Two, I’m tall and have short arms, so the way I move will not suit me.
Do you wear the same shoes you wear on stage?
It is something that always bothers me. It
