How was the performance of your spin?
It wasn’t quite so great. It was more like a flail. I didn’t start my spin because my arm was sore. I only got 2-3 minutes of spin before it became a flail again. But it was fun! If I could do it again, I’ve really gotta practice and really work to get it a little bit better. If I could get 5-10 minutes of spin before it was a flail again, I would certainly try it again. I did really well, but when I saw it for the first time, I just had to do it again. I got the hang of it pretty quickly.
Do you have a plan for the rest of the summer to improve your spin?
I will definitely do it again. I’m really looking forward to doing it again. I don’t know if it is going to be able to take me to the pro level, but it might just be something I can keep doing at home and use on a consistent basis to keep improving. If I can get about 10 to 15 hours of spin, then I can go to an event and try it out. Then, if I am able to do 5-10 minutes of spin, or if I’m able to do 10 minutes and it is a good time, then I’m going to try it out at the pro level.
What is an important point or a feature of any of the spinning machines you’ve worked with? Any tips for getting the most from them?
You have to know what it is that you want to achieve. I used the GEM (Gear Emphasize, Metronome, and Multi-Touch) a lot in the beginning of the summer because they actually feel great. But when I was just doing single-fins, I was like a lot of the machines are just kind of hard to spin in. I wanted to try using them. But at the pro level, you have to have a good understanding of the different things you can get the most out of the machine.
I had a lot of trouble with my GEM before this. It felt really loose and not really a nice spinning sensation. I think the only time I could get it right was at the pro level when I tried to spin a 15 second 1-fins. I was trying to hit the spot. I actually hit it perfectly. And a guy in a different sport asked me how far
