According to the ancient Hebrew tradition, the first human was a person who was created in the image of God, but was not yet ready to receive his name. In Genesis 1:19–21, Yahweh created all creatures, including humans, and named them after creatures such as a bull and a horse. This means that the first individual made of the breath of life was a bull. It is also known that the first human is described as a big man with a big body, who lived about 7,000 years ago. In the Bible, the term human is used more often for a giant. When Adam and Eve ate of the apple in the Garden of Eden, it was for the first time in human history that we considered humans to be an animal.
Was there a time when there was no person?
No question, there has never been a time when there was no person. The Bible provides many references to the creation of new animals and plants, and even humans and other life forms, with no mention of a person. However, human beings have existed since the time of God, and God made them in His image, according to Genesis 1:28–29. It is true that Noah is the first of human beings created since that time, but this does not justify the view that there must have been no person at all. It is clear that the first human was given many other names than that of Adam and Eve. The name God gave to the human from the beginning was the name Adam. God referred to Adam and Eve and all the other creatures He created, such as animals and plants, by referring to them by that name in the preincarnate form. However, because a human being is created in the image of God, it means that human beings have always been known as God’s creation, just as a horse or a bull.
What about other creation myths?
Although the creation of humans and other creatures through the creative energies of God does not conflict with a belief in immortality, such a belief in immortality would create a problem if the creation of human beings was a part of other creation myths. These stories were not used to teach children that the world was temporary and that their ancestors lived centuries ago. Rather children were taught to see themselves as very real beings. A great example of this is in the Bible’s account of the creation of man. God tells Eve that “God said to my wife, “It is good that you have got a manchild, for a man
